We all have only on world but not everywhere refugees can feel like free people.

The atmosphere of cooperation.

On 3rd July, 2005 in a Refugees' Centre in Łuków took place an exhibition organised by Poznań One World Association and presenting the artistic works of refugees' children. The fence around the centre was used as a gallery.

"Artistic actions are just one part of a programme realised by a group of volunteers and people collaborating with our Association." - said Grzegorz Kujawiński, a leader of a youth team. A group consisting of a few people from all around Poland (Poznań, Krzyż, Lublin and Kraków) resided in the Łuków Refugees' Centre. They lived together with the refugees, ate the same meals as they did and organised classes for the children.

"It's all done to let us know how things that were discussed on special workshops before work in practice. The graduates of the workshops went to various centres. We landed up in Łuków." - explain volunteers.

One World Association organises trainings not only for young leaders but also for Primary and Secondary School children. The volunteers who are gaining practical abilities during the 4-day-long workcamp in Łuków are inter alia responsible for organising such trainings and sharing the knowledge with the youngsters.

The youths also try to organise events which would enable presenting the complex issue of exile to the local community. In Łuków it was decided to organise an open-air exhibition of children's artistic works.

The mentioned initiative occurs at the same time as other additional actions done in frames of the International Voluntary Project. There are 3 such actions realised in Refugees' Centres in Poland: in Łuków, Łomża and Czerwony Bór. Between 3rd and 24th July, 8 volunteers are going to work with the refugees residing in Łuków. 2 of them are from Poland, one from Moldova as well as from Belgium, Japan, Slovenia and England.

"We're going to teach languages and organise, in association with Łuków Cultural Centre, a show during a local fest which will present national dances and cuisines and will take place on 24th July. It will be an international work for peace and tolerance" - summarises Grzegorz Kujawiński from One World Association.
